Digital detox

Time for a digital detox. For years, our worst nightmare was ending up in a place with no cell phone reception. We chased Wi-Fi to avoid feeling cut off from the world and felt genuinely uneasy at the thought of not being able to check our emails. We patiently postponed the moment of digging into a delicious dish, just to have a chance to photograph it and share the image on social media. The term nomophobia ("no mobile phobia") was even coined to describe the fear of being disconnected. And now? Clearly, all this is starting to tire us out, so much so that, according to experts, it's time for a detox. Today, true luxury is no longer a resort that allows you to be connected everywhere, as quickly as possible. Instead, the exclusive vacation has become one that offers, above all, downtime and treatments for digital addicts. "We've reached the point where tech addiction is comparable to the tobacco addiction of a decade ago, when there was an initial reluctance among citizens to recognize its negative health effects, but then an awareness that has grown year after year," explained experts at the Global Wellness Summit, held in Cesena. "The luxury wellness world is therefore increasingly focusing on this aspect."
